Kwame Racks, The Diamond in Disguise of BA Music.

Amidst the struggles fledgling artistes have to go through to win the hearts of their community members, Kwame Rack$ has broken the jinx in his hometown, Nsuatre.

The second edition of his annual concert dubbed One Cedi Concert was fulfilling as he filled the Nsuatre Community Center to the brim despite an earlier downpour.

Icebreaking performances from Mr Awesome, Qwesi Korang, Hydrogen, 1Kolo, Arch Angel, Deslit, and many others were up warming but not  enough to quench the thirsty crowd who kept on chanting Nsuatre Mafia! Kwame Racks!  as they craved for their super star.

At about 3am, the sensation kept on burning till the MC for the night Kwasi Kumi Boadu KKB of Moonlite FM was heckled by some patrons as they were freezing by the dawn dew in quest of their Jay Z.

Indeed never judge a book by its cover, his simple appearance and uncharismatic calm face and gestures would make you feel the fella wasn’t ready for the night.

But the variance was unimaginably mesmerizing.

The audiences’ sing along to his tunes like  Real Life, Trust Issues, DropTop Chevy, Aduana jersey, Life, For your love, 11:59Pm in Nsoatre, B33ba, These Days, Loaded and Gang of Popes really depicted that he is real grassroots artiste who has taken conscious efforts to anchor himself with good and relatable compositions.

From such humble beginning and contextual lyrical composition, one can relate him to either Kwesi Arthur or Kendrick Lamar. His lyrical dexterity is of course amazing and thrilling.

His likes probably justifies Shatta Wale’s request to feature artistes from Bono, Bono East and Ahafo Regions in an interview with DJ Floppy on Sky FM on Friday. It’s our fervent hope that every artiste in and around can build such a fan base to propel him or her to the destined position.
