Mr Vincent Oppong Kyeremeh

The Chief Executive Officer of Captains Klodin is calling on residents in Brong Ahafo to accord fashion designers in the region equal treatment as those in the acclaimed cities.

Speaking to KkbPortal, Mr Vincent Oppong Kyeremeh indicated many amongst the certified fashion designers in the region have the requisite style and finesse to design and sew apparels of any kind for their clients but are not rewarded in same measure.

“In terms of style, fabric, swiftness, we can boast of excellent craftsmanship in this region when it comes to fashion. Rather unfortunate, residents here will prefer paying less for the same quality of  work to local designers and pay huge for same work if he or she purchases it from other parts of the country. I feel it is unfair” the KNUST graduate lamented.

The king of couture opined the various Fashion shows springing up in the region have accorded fashion designers  fora to showcase their works.

“In recent times, fashion shows are giving us a platform to showcase our designs and I feel it is the right direction. This year my focus will be on photoshoots and social media presence to give the public a chance to interact with my brand” he revealed.

Mr Oppong Kyeremeh however called on the youth who are less fortunate to enroll in formal education to consider learning a vocation rather than being idle.

“We have outlived the times where we felt technical and vocational work was meant for the poor or weak minded persons. That is the only way one can be independent and support government’s Ghana Beyond Aid agenda. The government's employment bandwidth is so small that it can't capture everyone. The youth must consider learning a vocation to be self-employed and self reliant" he advised.

The 2018 Brong Ahafo Young Achievers Awards  winner called on government to consider electricity tariffs for commercial meters as it is swallowing their businesses up.
