The chief executive of EKA food processing company, Mr. Elijah Kwame Agyei says the nation has to prioritise Agro- processing as a means of curbing post harvest losses.

Speaking on the BBS, Mr. Agyei reiterated the nation over the years has been struggling with post harvest losses, a menace which is affecting the fortunes of farmers in the country.

To solve this canker, Mr. Adjei wants the government and the ministry of agriculture to focus on Agro processing in developing agriculture in the country.

"To curb the post harvest loss menace, we need to focus more on processing, of which we can convert abundant farm produce into form which can stay for long" he noted.

Mr Adjei again employed government to collaborate with local agro processors to help them export their processed goods.

"To ensure the stability of the Cedi, we have to export more than we import. And our failure to export finished goods instead of raw materials is having a negative impact of our economy. We need more foreign currencies to import their finished products" he lamented.
