"Kelvyn boy is coming up with an album and i think that is next year, and Kelvyn Boy is out with a new single  that is Ginger...and you know since we dropped it, its been amazing because um! it came overnight just yesterday and we have 11k views on Youtube" this was a response to a question from  Ike Frimpong on Loud in Gh on Sky FM about what's up with him.

In the quest to promote his new single which is the 6th in the year Kelvin Brown the Osei Tutu Senior High  graduate noted his lyrical dexterity is as a result of his strong taste for High life music.

"my biggest motivation comes from our high life legends and good high life music. I am not a strictly high life artist 'cos i fuse in a bit of Patoa, a bit pidgin, a bit RMB, a bit dancehall and other vibes this makes my genre Afro fusion" the multifaceted artiste noted.

He grew up listening to the likes of Pat Thomas, Paapa Yankson, AB Crenstil, Osibisaa an their likes yet he has become a sensational dancehall artiste, this he owes the allegiance to Stonebwoy.

"I had a single with B4Bona  that's higher but it couldn't get the necessary clout. I met my long time mentor when I was performing with my band at Metro TV after I mesmerized him with my performance. That was the start of the breakthrough. He has really changed the paradigm of Dancehall which most often dwells on beefs. He enticed me with his humble and calm vibe that was where I got an influence to do dancehall" he idolized his mentor.

Touching on the inspiration behind ginger, Kelvyn revealed "if you are in a relationship and your partner is fooling you, you got to prove to him or her that tit for tat is a fair play. I wrote this to inspire all who go through this rigours in life. That's not my personal experience though"

His signature word is lie lie, he explains "It is an awaking word like a warning. That's don't try me 'cos you can't fit me"

Born Kelvin Brown, Kelvyn Boy is a product of Osei Tutu Senior High School in the Ashanti region. He nurtured his talent from primary school and as a member of his church's choir and today, he is the author of well -received songs like Pray, Toffee and Na You.
