The traditional authority and the good people of Berekum have held a coronation ceremony in honour of  Nana Kosua Ameahene III as the new Omanhemaa of Berekum Traditional Area.

The sadden demise of the late queen mother of Berekum Nana Akua Ameahene II in 2017 required a new queen mother as custom and tradition demand. The occasion was to officially outdoor her to the general public. She was enstooled on August 20th this year, a fortnight after the funeral of her predecessor.

In her ceremonial speech on Friday, Her Royal Majesty indicated she is poised to support her Chief Daasebre Dr Amankona Diawuo II to restore the diminishing glory of the town.

"we have ushered ourselves into a new era for the restoration of the glory of our beloved Berekum. I am calling on all to appreciate my installation as a sign of  unity to rally behind our chief to help in uniting our efforts for the development of our town. The current tag on our town is demeaning. We are lugging behind in infrastructure, our youth are tagged with cyber fraud crimes and some of our youth are lives indecent life. It will rest on our mutual commitment and conscious efforts before we can right these wrongs" Nana Ameaahene entreated her people.

On his part, Daasebre Dr amankona Diawuo congratulated her on her selection and outdooring. He however charged her to live up to expectation as required of her. He also assured her of his unflinching support to make their reign an influential one.

"I promise you of my total support to ensure we make our town the desirable place for both our royals and visitors to dwell in. I will as well call on all to unite and support all the good initiatives we will propose. From now we will ensure we hold government officials accountable to us. They should fulfill their promises to us; we deserve better" the surgeon charged all.

Before the enstoolment of Nana Akosua Ameahene III she was called Madam Akosua Agyeiwaa. she is a business woman who resides in Berekum.

The colourful occasion was graced by the President of the  Queen mothers' Association of Ghana , Nana Abenaa Boatenmaa, sub chiefs of Berekum, other traditional leaders, the clergy, the Muslim community, politicians and other well wishers.
