At long last, Brong Ahafo has benefited from the One Million US Dollar Zylofon Art Fund.

Amidst the heckling circumstances surrounding the pivot business (Menzgold) which is fetching Nana Appiah Mensah fortunes to fund his conglomerate, the business mogul has anchored his firm allegiance as a true Ghana-at-heart-citizen once again by partnering with a Sunyani based event organizing agency to support the local movie industry.

At a press launch on Friday at Eusbet International Conference Center in Sunyani, executives from Zylofon Art Fund and Loyalty Is Royal cum Eusbet Hotel signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide funds which will both provide financial assistance to movie producers and accord them a venue to premier their movies.

Touching on the details a board member of the Zylofon Art Fund Nana Brew had this to say.

“Most people living outside Accra have talents as well as intriguing story lines but lack of funds and platforms inhibits them to either showcase it or produce quality content to compete the mainstream market. In this delight, this MOU is to provide funds for movie producers who will commit to use local talents to produce quality piece as a loan at no interest rate” this was welcomed with a rousing applause.

To ensure producers are able to sell out their movies he issued a curvier “this is a business, however we will only accept proposals from producers who are accepted by FIPAG, with good storyline as well as those who have a reasonable business plan which assures of easy marketing of the piece”

He again hinted of the Zylofonview.com an online portal for Ghanaian movies

Frank Kwabena Owusu, the PRO of the Fund also noted plans are far advanced to provide the local producers with some of the Zylon signed actors and actresses as well as linking some of the B/A based artistes up with Zylofon signed artists to ensure the seeming gap between the uptown dudes and local talents is bridged.

Touching on the proceeds a producer will get from the premiers, Ernest Bennet (Don E) the Executive Director of LIR and Eusbet Hotel hinted as the premier hotel in the region they are ready to ensure creative art, a branch of tourism will upsurge hence will commit fully to the agreement.

“This agreement is heaven sent ‘cos we’ve been waiting for such an opportunity since creation. We will ensure the proposed 60-40 percent  proceeds share for producers and Eusbet respectively, will be adhered to. Our greatest request is to the media to insist on the support for publicity” the young entrepreneur reassured.

Some of the film producers, musicians, journalists and other stakeholders at the event expressed profound gratitude to both parties in the MOU pledging their commitment to ensure accountability and transparency in the deal.
