The Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive has called on residents to support the assembly's quest to sustain its reverence as the cleanest city in the country .

Speaking to Hector Delli Offei on the Sky FM morning show, Mrs Evelyn Kumi Richardson noted the irresponsible disposal of waste does not only mar the beauty of the city but incur financial burden on the assembly.

"Our irresponsible behavior towards waste disposal really cost the assembly in managing it. Both persons who drop rubbish in streets/gutters and those who fail to drop waste in waste baskets at the disposal sites give us a hell in keeping the city clean. We have to spend more when we have the clean up exercise on every first Saturday of the month in blowing the gutters as well as to the Zoomlion for collecting the waste on regular basis"  she noted.

Mrs Richardson noted her outfit is in relentless effort to insist on  the each first Saturday of every month as sanitation day.

Commenting and peace and stability in the municipality, she noted her active and responsive collaboration with the Municipal Security Council furnishes her with enough information in enumerating and managing possible conflicts of which its not usual in the municipality.

She however noted a familiarization tour which she embarked on earlier this year has given her a fair idea about how to go about with the development projects in the municipality.

"I embarked on a familiarization tour earlier this year to elicit the developmental needs of the various electoral areas, it has really given me a fair idea about how to go about in the bridging the infrastructural gap in the municipality in consultation with the medium term development plan by the assembly. I hope when there's adequate development and equal chance for contribution in decision making, peace is restored" she opined.

The former Sunyani Technical University Senior Assistant Registerar added enough consultation with the assembly engineer to provide lasting solution for the cropping flood prone areas to avert any unfortunate incident in times of heavy downpours has been made.

"I have collaborated with the Municipal engineer, NADMO and the urban roads department to discuss possible measures to be employed to control the emerging flood prone areas to avert it from escalating. I want to use this medium to appeal to all residents in Sunyani that my doors are opened for constructive criticisms and suggestions.(de3 )twa sa no nnim s3 nakyi akyea 3na ti kor) nso nk) agyina)" she ended with a local adage.
