Young and talented Ghanaian footballer, Alimeyaw Salifu who plies his career in Italy has expressed interest in playing for any of our national team.

The former Bechem united midfielder who currently plays for newly promoted  Sirie C side, Fermana FC has indicated he is ever prepared to play for his motherland, Ghana when he is called to duty.

"As a patriotic citizen, I'm really enthused to to wear the Red, Gold, Green and Black Star colours if I'm given the opportunity. Its really an honour to represent one's nation in the field of sports" the Berekum Presec graduate posited.

As a young player in his early twenties, Alimeyaw called on the government to modify the curriculum to appreciate and enhance students who are athletically endowed.

"What we lack in our country is talent enhancement, our curriculum overly places emphasis on academic and theorotic excellence giving talents no or less attention. That's our major problem. We have to design our education to appreciate students with co-curricular mastery such as athletics (field and track events), performing arts and artists. I believe this will result into financial liberation" the promising star suggested.

Salifu noted irrespective of the current state of the Ghana Premier League and the dissolution of the Ghana Football Association which resulted from an investigative piece, #12 by Anas Aremeyaw Anas, there is strong optimism Ghana football

" This time is a bit turbulent but it doesn't imply Ghana football has hit the rock forever. With the needed collaborative negotoation between Ghana government and the FIFA , Ghana football will land on a more flourishing field to give us back what imbibes fans to patronize it" he expressed hope.

KKbPortal caught up with Alimeyaw in Sunyani where he is lodging during his seasonal break. The best of luck to the young black and gifted Ghanaian for his good thoughts.
