MCKENZIE GHANA TARGETS INTERNATIONAL MARKET

The Chief Executive Officer of McKenzie Ghana has hinted of plans of establishing an industrial hub in the Brong Ahafo region as part of the company's vision of going international.


 Addressing participants at a company retreat, Mr. Michael Asare Yeboah revealed that as part of his vision in making McKenzie Ghana an international entity, the company has plans of building a multipurpose factory in the region. He added that to hasten their move to the international market, the company is making plans to import and produce raw materials used in manufacturing their clothes and garments.

 “To sustain our age as the 2017 leather, garment and fabrics company of the year at the AGI Awards, we have the intent to expand our scope of market to the international levels to remain relevant and make Ghana proud. With this aspiration we are planning to establish a multi purpose business hub which will have a production house, training school, hostel facility and bungalows for our staff coupled with a welfare system to cater for workers’ children and pension” he noted.

 The company partnered with the University of Energy and Natural Resources to provide a one month in-service training for the management and staff of the company.

Mr Asare Yeboah explained that after a training session his staff went through at the university of Energy and Natural resources, it was prudent to organise this retreat to "help the staff to continue to learn, acquire more knowledge and skill and also understand and move with the company's vision".

 Mr. Asare Yeboah called on government to help his business by awarding him contracts.

 "The work I do involves students, I make training kits. So what I want from government is to award me contracts" he appealed.

 Mr. David Twumasi Ankrah, registrar of the Graduate School at the University of Energy and Natural resources and a facilitator at the retreat revealed the training was part of the university's corporate social responsibility. He believes that such partnerships is required to provide a fertile grounds for their prospective graduates who will be employed into private companies in the region.

 Staff were given certificate of participation after taken through topics bordering on finance management and book keeping, branding , marketing and customer service among others.
