A group known as Berekum Citizens’ Association is set to organise a health screening exercise in the Berekum Municipality on Friday 30th March, 2018.

Mr Henry Kofi Adane, the International Communication and Coordination Director of the association who revealed this to Ghana Kasa's host Kwasi Kumi Boadu on Sunyani based Sky Fm, stated the exercise forms part of the association's objective to promote development in the municipality.

"As part of our efforts to ensure development in the municipality, we have considered to organize this health screening for the residents at no cost because a sound mind lives in a sound body. We've arranged with some health professionals who are eager to support the exercise. We are still calling on other philanthropists to support us with anything at hand to make the project successful" he called out

The Berekum Citizens’ Association is an association that is geared towards wielding the resources of  resident and non-resident citizens of Berekum both in Ghana and in the diaspora to bring infrastructural development and youth empowerment to augment the effort of the central government and traditional authority.

"We are collaborating with both the Municipal Assembly and the Traditional Authority to garnish their efforts for the development of the municipality. This we believe will fast track the wellbeing of our municipality" Mr Adane noted.

On the premises of education The UK based member of the association hinted he is giving 3000 exercise books to the pupils of the municipality to wet their appetite to develop keen interest for formal education.

The association since it's inception in late 2017, has embarked on series of town beautification projects such as clean up exercise, painting of light poles and painting of road markings.
