WENCHI METHODIST SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL TO CONSTRUCT WEATHER STATION IN MEMORY OF THE VICTIMS OF THE KINTAMPO WATER FALLS TRAGEDY-HEADMASTER FOSTER ANTWI BOATENG
               
Authorities at the Wenchi Methodist Senior High School in the Brong Ahafo Region says they will construct a modern weather facility which will give update on weather forecast  at the school campus in memory of their students who perished at the Kintampo Water Falls on March 19 this year during an unofficial excursion at the site.                                              
   This revelation was made to the public on Thursday 4th May, when Board of Directors, PTA, Headmaster and Staff of the school were disbursing an amount of 13,000 US dollars to the victims of the tragedy and the families of the bereaved. Bishop Kofi Adonteng Boateng a Ghanaian based Pastor in the United State of America who is the head pastor of Divine Word International Worldwide donated this amount upon hearing the news of the misfortune to provide support them
Out of the US $13000 US $1000 was given to one of the teachers, who is suffering from a serious injury. The remaining $12,000 which is equivalent to GH₵ 48000 was shared into three. GH₵ 14000 of the amount was given to the Parents of bereaved 14 geography students. GH₵ 15,000 was also given to families of the 15 injured whilst the remaining GH₵ 19000 was given to the school authorities to use in running the affairs of the School.  
 Mr. Forster Antwi Boateng, the headmaster of the school disclosed to the media that the Board of Directors, PTA and school management have come into an agreement to construct modern weather station in the remembrance of the soul lost during the sad incidents with their share of the amount received.

The Kintampo Water Falls has been closed down waiting for appropriate renovation and maintenance works to be carried out at the site. The Vice president , Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Minister of Tourism and Creative Arts and the Member of Parliament for Evalue Ajomoro-Gwira Mrs. Catherine Afeku, Majority and Minority Members  in parliament all paid visit to Kintampo to express their condolences to the affected persons and families. We are still waiting on the Tourism Ministry to submit the report on their findings about the incident.
