AMMEND THE PROCESS FOR SELECTING MMDCES-A WASHINGTON MANDELA CALLS ON NANA ADDO

A Mandela Washington fellow has entreated President Akuffo Addo and his administration to expedite actions in amending the appointment of MMDCES into a universal suffrage as he promised during his 2016 campaign trail to avert all forms of agitations from party sympathizers after nominees are announced.

Hon Bernard Oduro Takyi who is also the assembly member for Kwatire electoral area in the Sunyani West district indicated that, this amendment  will restore sovereignty into the hands of the general public just as that of the election of members of parliament. He was expressing his strong discontentment over the various persistent uproars by some party faithful over some MMDCES by previous and current governments.

"When the election of the MMDES is done same as the Member of Parliament process, it will do away all these agitations over the years" he said.

The physically challenged intellectual was worried about some section of New Patriotic Party members who are opposing the nomination of Mr. Stephen Obeng as DCE for Sunyani West due to his physical deformity. Didability is not an inability.Mr Takyi added that, these reactions from the agitaors will incur the wrath of the disabled persons in the fortunes of Nana Addo in the 2020 election.

Mr. Bernard Oduro Takyi is billed as a guest speaker at the Commonwealth Trade Summit in India on the theme “opportunities in Technology and Agribusiness in Africa”.
