POLICE ADVICES  RESIDENTS ON UNSCRUPULOUS CALLS AND TEXT MESSAGES
 

Regional crime officer cautions residents about fraudulent calls and text messages.
The Brong Ahafo Regional Crime Officer, Superintendent Nana Kwaku Duah is entreating all Ghanaians to be cautious of strange calls, text messages and emails from unfamiliar sources claiming they have won draws their victims never entered.

The law enforcer was reacting to the high incidence of unscrupulous people duping innocent citizens with the trick of winning raffles from telecommunication companies through mobile money service.

He therefore prayed to the citizenry not to entertain these discrete and text messages and treats them as a means tricksters use in siphoning money from them. He also lamented on imposters who call with concocted foreign numbers claiming to be relatives who have exported goods to their victims in the country.
He also observed that lots of culprits of these scams are behind bars and many others in the various stages of prosecution and cautioned those who are in these scandalous acts to quit with immediate effect.
