The Brong Ahafo Regional manager of Monitoring and Evaluation at the National Health Insurance Scheme, Alfred Agamah, has reiterated the scheme’s commitment to dealing with the high trend of complaints residents in the Sunyani municipality are giving towards their health insurance renewal under the leadership of Mr. Joseph Mensah as the Regional Manager of the scheme.

Speaking in an interview with a Sunyani based radio station, Mr. Alex Fordjour a Senior Officer also of the NHIS explained that health cards used at their office is not produced in the country, saying Ghana does not have the machineries to produce these cards.

He stated that though prices for new NHIS card renewal is not certain, they can say for a fact that because of the transition, the amount taken will increase. He is thereby pleading with residents to keep their cool in matters regarding these issues.

"When you have a change in government, at certain times points in time transitions and new persons taking over affect the budget considerations and approval and we go around and make sure things are in place for a smooth delivery" he added.

Mr. Joseph Mensah before his appointment as the Regional manager of the NHIS was the second vice chairman of the New Patriotic Party in the Brong Ahafo region.
