NEW REGIONAL MTTD COMMANDER SAYS TRAFFIC SANITY IS A SHARED RESPONSIBILITY

Superintendent Stella Sedame who replaces Superintendent Daniel Oppong Asirifi as the Regional commander of the Motor Transport and Traffic Directorate of the Ghana police service has made a clarion call on all residents of the region to help in combating road traffic deviance.
She enumerated some of the few traffic misconducts she has observed in her few days of stay in the region as drivers stopping in the middle of road either to pick or alight passenger , careless driving and turning of bus stop centers into parking centers by shop owners.
Mrs. Sadame said these offences persist due to drivers’ illiteracy on traffic regulations. She therefore suggested that if her outfit collaborates with the Driver and Vehicle License Authority to organize workshops for the drivers, these anomalies can be corrected in a jiffy.
She also called on opinion leaders and vehicle owners to advice their drivers to observe traffic regulations because her office will not condone any acts apologies when their drivers are caught culpable of any breech of the traffic regilations.
