GHANAIANS URGED TO CHANGE THEIR MINDSET TOWARDS PUBLIC SECTOR WORK

Mr. Okumfo Okuna a policy analyst is calling on Ghanaians tochange their mindset toward work. He said civil servants have to be patriotic and abstain from their colonial way of thinking.
He believes that our forefathers idea of putting up a lackadaisical attitude towards government work due to the faith that they were working for the white man should come to halt as we as Ghanaians are now managing our own affairs. He was reacting to President Akuffo Addos call on Ghanains to avoid all unnecessary and flimsy excuses either to be late or absent from work.
The industrial relations officer of the Teachers and Education workers Union (TEWU), Mr. Abeaba Matthew Abereniya, on the other hand has called on government to provide all necessary logistics to government institutions and ensure supervision from the seat of government to ensure full productivity.
He believes it is only when there is the supervision and critical oversight from the people that the government will be in a position to do an even better job, and employees of government departments will be the true public servants of the people.
